2007 Record (8-8)
Key Losses: Calvin Pace (LB), Terrance Holt (FS)
Key Additions: Clark Haggans (LB)
The Cardinals fought through injuries that had both QB’s Leinart and Warner missing games and/or struggling during the season. Still, they managed to win 8 games. Expectations likely to be high for the Cardinals, unless people have just stopped thinking this is finally the year the stockpile of talent will come together and breakthrough….
First round draft choice Rodgers-Cromartie may not have an immediate impact but could improve quickly during the season and certainly will have every chance to be a regular on this defense. The big splash I feel for Arizona in the draft was in the third round with an outstanding value in Early Doucet. Perhaps another WR is the last thing Arizona needed but this guy has talent and with defensive attention going elsewhere when Arizona passes could have a quick impact as the #3 wide out.
The Cardinals offensive line returns all 5 starters which should help Leinart stay healthy. If he does the Cardinals will be tough to beat at home as they’ve establish some strong home field advantage recently. Aging James as the main RB is a concern for long term success but this team (again) has plenty of potential and the talent to win some games this season.
Predicted 2008-09 Record: 9-7
