2007 Record: 7-9
Key Losses: David Carr (QB), Vinny Testaverde (QB), DeShaun Foster (RB), Justin Hartwig (C), Kris Jenkins (DT)
Key Additions: Muhsin Muhammad (WR), Milford Brown (OG), Landon Johnson (LB), Terrence Holt (FS)
With 2 first round picks it appears the Panthers made a nice splash and have an excellent chance to have a much more solid ground game this season. That’s good because Delhomme is 33 years old and coming off elbow surgery.
The talent remains in place for this team to be successful but the key again will be staying healthy – something they haven’t done in a while. They made plenty of moves in free agency and I like their draft so they can win some games this season. From a handicapping point of view this team has been strange the past few years with against the spread success on the road but very little at home. That’s backwards from many teams. Plenty of question marks but plenty of potential and in a weak division the Panthers can absolutely win the NFC South.
Predicted 2008-09 Record: 9-7
