The Cowboys seem to be a very popular pick for the Super Bowl in 2009. This is of course logically based on their impressive season a year ago. However, I still weaknesses on this team that they must overcome again this year. Plus with so many people telling them how good they are and the success last year it is possible for a let down as a lack of effort could creep in at times and they aren’t dominate enough to get away with lack luster performances too often.
Felix Jones is one of my favorite picks of the ’08 draft, and our friends at FantasyDraftEdge.com agree as they have Jones ranked high on their new fantasy football cheatsheets. Perhaps by default Dallas remains the favorite in the NFC with their question marks being at lower profile spots. But if GB and/or Minnesota get better than expected play at QB both these teams have more overall talent than Dallas. But of course QB play is a HUGE if….
The Cowboys are often just a bit over priced when we handicap them week to week and this will likely be a bit more common early in the season so we’ll look to play against Dallas early in the season if the value is there.
Predicted 2008-09 Record: 11-5
NFC East Champs, possible NFC Super Bowl team….stay tuned for my final post season predictions later this summer!
