2007 Record: 9-7
Key Losses: Nothing significant
Key Additions: Even less significant

Solid draft but the positives may end there for the Redskins.  They have a new system which is complicated, a new coach a young QB and age on both lines.  Could be a long season for the Redskins.

I’ll take a look at picking against the Redskins often this season.

2008-09 Predicted Record: 6-10

2007 Record: 10-6
Key Losses: Ben Hartsock (TE), Jacob Bell (LG), Benji Olson (RG), Antwan Odom (DE)
Key Additions: Justin McCareins (WR), Alge Crumpler (TE), Jake Scott (OG), Javon Kearse (DE)

The common theory is that NFL QBs blossom in their 3rd year so if you’re a Titans fan you subscribe to that theory.  Vince young is a dangerous player as a play maker from the QB spot.  The problem here is that he still can’t pass at an NFL level.  If he can this season the Titans can be tough with some young defensive ends and Chris Johnson making plenty of noise at RB to compliment LenDale White.  This team goes as far as Vince Young takes them by feet or by arm.

The Titans played a lot of close games last year, making the dog a good pick in Titans game often.

2008-09 Predicted Record: 9-7

2007 Record: 9-7
Key Losses: John Wade (C), Greg Spires (DE)
Key Additions: Warrick Dunn (RB), Jeff Faine (C), Marques Douglas (DE)

Jeff Garcia played over his head often last year and perhaps allowed this team to over achieve.  Still, plenty of talent there to win some games and always tough at home.  Very difficult to ignore one very key stat.  In ’06 TB was -11 in turnovers (4-12).  Last year they were +15 as the record improved (9-7).  So success here could very much depend on where that stats falls this season.  This is a very tough division and I just don’t see TB having enough to improve on last seasons record.

2008-09 Predicted Record: 8-8

2007 Record: 10-6
Key Losses: Shaun Alexander (RB), DJ Hackett (WR), Marcus Pollard (TE)
Key Additions:Julius Jones (RB), Mike Wahle (LG)

Can the Seahawks continue to win the NFC West by default.  It seems so actually.  Many are excited about the Cardinals but that’s nothing new and they continually dissapoint.  This team is getting older and although Alexander is gone, Julius Jones not exactly a youngster and back problems for Hassleback are very scary.  Still, they reamin the best in the division and the schedule starts pretty winnable.

Seattle has had a history of playing closer than they should against bad teams, I always look at picking the underdog when the line gets large vs Seattle.

NFC West Champs – early playoff exit again.
