Oklahoma Sooners +6 over Florida

Completely respect Florida Gators defense and perhaps it’s the best OU has seen this season – it probably is….BUT this is by far the best offense the Gators have faced. The OU defense wasn’t great this season but they have speed – lots of speed. And speed on D is how you slow the spread option game that Florida runs. Bottom line, this one stays close and taking the points is the pick!

Texas -8.5 over Ohio State

I’ve seen enough of the Big Ten and Big XII in hte bowl games so far to feel like the Texas offense will be too much for Ohio State. The Texas D is better than most think and Ohio State doesn’t have enough weapons to keep up.

Fortunately for me I bet this one early and got -7 as I love Cal to roll here. The line moving up, and not likely to stop hurts the value of this bet now but it’s still the better play as Cal is a solid team on both sides of the ball.

Wisconsin Badgers +6 over Florida State

Florida State an impressive young team but this one is power vs speed. The Seminole D is fast, but Wisconsin is much bigger and should be able to establish the ground game and control this matchup.

West Virginia/North Carolina UNDER 45.5

Not overly impressed with either offense as both struggled to find consistency all season long. UNC defense one of the best in the nation so one dimensional WVU will struggle to score. If Tar Heels could find any offense they’d be the pick here, but instead it all adds up to a nice under pick.

TCU -2.5 over Boise State
Impressed with Broncos again this year but the TCU defense is impressive. Ashame these two play each other as we liked both to pull upsets in bigger bowls potentially.

St Petersburg Bowl Picks – 2008

Memphis +11.5 over South Florida
If for no other reason the impressive against the spread number of dogs, especially double digit underdogs in early bowl games leads us to Memphis. The Tigers up and down with some injury problems all season. South Florida had high expectations and were a Top 10 team earlier in the season but they’ve fallen apart since falling from the top of the conference.

New Mexico Bowl Picks – 2008

Fresno St/Colorado St OVER 60
Smart pick here looks to be on a higer scoring game. Both defenses respectable but the offenses both made solid strides late in the season. Each team into the 30′s would not be a surprise.

Navy +2.5 over Wake Forest
Just can’t shade Navy in a bowl game. Respect Wake Forest but Navy, along with other academies, has historically been very good in bowl games.
