2008 NFL Week 17 Football Picks

Week 17 is tough – so many teams resting players and so many teams looking forward to a Monday tee time or trip to the beach.  Sometimes easy to know who is resting who but not always easy to know who’s checked out mentally.

Green Bay Packers -11 over Detroit
Packers don’t want to be the team that the Lions finally beat and I have to question the Lions efforts outdoors in Green Bay after the season they had.  Last week was their last best shot to get a win and they got hammered.  They’ll get beat up again. 

Atlanta Falcons -14 over St Louis Rams
Rams haven’t stopped anybody all season long, Falcons alive for division title and have big play ability.  Expect a blowout here. 

Patriots/Bills UNDER 35.5
Bitter cold backed by 40-50 mph winds in the forecast for Buffalo.  New England thrives in bad weather but this WILL disrupt their passing game and when forced to rely on their ground game they’ve struggled.  

San Francisco 49ers -3 over Washington NFL PLAY OF THE DAY 
I absolutely expect this to look like two different teams.  Although neither playing for anything look for the Niners to give it everything and the Redskins perhaps just the opposite.
